description The seat system designed by design master Mario Bellini in 1970 returned to the stage 50 years later with a contemporary classic style, exploring a balance between structural shaping and sustainable development.
Return to history: The 50 years that have never passed away, Camaleonda, which came out in 1970, can be described as the absolute protagonist of the design world, and it has gone through a long history of 50 years. This modular sofa was designed by Mario Bellini. With its great success in and outside the industry, it perfectly defined the design aesthetics of the time.It has appeared in many international design museums and classic movie scenes. The B&B Italia R&D center works closely with the design master Mario Bellini. After a series of careful designs, Camaleonda, a work loved by design enthusiasts, antique furniture dealers and interior designers, finally returned to production this year.
In this re-engraving, Camaleonda retains one of the elements that make it a contemporary classic. In order to be loyal to the original version, with the consent of both Mario Bellini and B&B Italy, after finding the size and proportion of the original finish, it was decided to retain the 90×90CM seat module including the backrest and armrests.
In addition, the polyurethane liner that expresses the effect of Capitonné's craftsmanship has also been preserved, and the innovative combination system created by Mario Bellini in 1970 is still used, including cables, hooks and rings, giving Camaleonda a unique appearance and modularity. In addition, thanks to the tie rods and rings in the components, each module can be arbitrarily separated and reorganized to adapt to the changing tastes and needs of users.
The most basic feature of Camaleonda is its modularity full of infinite possibilities. This geometric characteristic allows each element to become a series of pixel-like combinations to define your home environment with different styles.By combining and separating each seat, backrest and armrest, you can constantly change your mind and enjoy every movement and planning. As Mario Bellini admired: “Among all the works I have designed, Camaleonda is perhaps the most free, because it can always arrange countless specifications of different sizes.”
